Herd Health

When I first began building our herd, I knew that - above all else - animal health would sit at the pinnacle of a successful program. Articles, veterinary journals, and mentorship helped shape my understanding of herd management... but I'm not perfect. I had limited exposure to anything larger than a turkey when I first delved into goats, and even then my knowledge base relied on my mother's antiquated experiences from her own childhood. Our collective understanding of ruminant health is always changing, improving, and reevaluating old practices. As I continue to grow with my herd, I hope such improvement will be reflected in my charges' wellbeing.

Below you will find short snippets describing the protocols, practices, and quarantine methods we use to ensure our herd remains healthy.
